The local area boasts a rich heritage of music and is home to many gifted musicians, whilst also acting as a magnet for aspiring and talented artists who come here to absorb the native styles of playing. Donegal has always been a stronghold of trad music and is esteemed as the home of Donegal-style fiddle playing, as exemplified by the local group Altan, who have gained international success. Teach Ruairí has lively evening sessions with vibrant sounds from the cream of local musicians.
